Private Domain and Concentration Update

Private Domain : for my private domain project I am struggling with choosing which idea I should choose and finalize. I have begun to shoot two ideas: One a self portrait project, as its something that makes me uncomfortable and I want to challenge myself. My other idea is to photograph my garage, storage units, and unfinished rooms as a way to depict how my home life has been the past 5 years. Until eighth grade, I had lived in the same house since I was a kid. However since then, I have moved eight times in the last 4 years. And because I continue to move, I never fully settle in to a house, so nothing feels like "home" to me, and thats what I hope to capture. Concentration : Once again, I am conflicted and I have a new idea I want to add into my project. Instead of photographing all of my subjects in similar, ethereal backgrounds, I want all 12 of my subjects to be shot in different locations: urban, murals, coffee shops, gardens, beach, so that I may arrange it in a way...

Inspiration

Here are some artists (painters), whose work I have been following/studying who also have the aim of changing the paradox that surrounds our country's view of Black Youth. Concentration Presentation

This week I had my concentration presentation, and amongst seeing my project as a whole, as well as hearing critiques/praises from my peers in the class, I have decided to make a few adjustments to my projects/think about some adjustments: 1) Someone recommended that I use different mirror shards throughout the project. I liked the consistency of the one shard, but I may try shooting multiple sizes/shapes, and see how I feel about it. 2) I'm debating whether or not I want to shoot 6 people (2 shots each) or 12 people. I like the idea of shooting six because I can play with representing two styles within each person (i.e, nature, nightlife/night portraits, industrial), however in the context of my idea, it might work best to shoot 12 people, as the more people I have, the more people are represented: a central part to the meaning and theme of my project. 3) Im looking into adding some effects to add variability and show/try different techniques such as long exposure, playing w...
